CODE REWIND 

 

VVIT Guntur ACM Student Chapter organized Code Rewind on Sunday, December 22nd from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. The event was part of the VIVA VVIT Fest 2K24 and was attended by students from various colleges.

The event received a good response from students of various institutions with over 60 participants.

Code Rewind is designed to assess participants' logical reasoning, inventiveness, and problem-solving talents in addition to their coding prowess. The event placed a strong emphasis on competitive programming that was demanding, making sure that each participant's talents were tested in every way.

The contest featured two problem sets, each consisting of two easy problems, one medium problem, and one hard problem. The marking scheme awarded 5 marks for easy problems, 10 marks for medium problems, and 30 marks for hard problems, making a total of 50 marks. Each problem included test cases of varying difficulty, with the number and complexity of test cases determined by the hardness of the problem. This structure ensured a well-rounded evaluation of participants’ coding and problem-solving skills.

 

For one hour, each participant competed alone on HackerEarth, with points determined by how many issues they were able to solve and test cases they passed. The competition prioritized precision and speed, with the winner being the highest scorer. A fair and excellent competition was ensured by the transparent judging process, which included thorough performance insights and code duplication checks.

It provided a venue for competition as well as an educational opportunity, with comments assisting players in honing their craft. The event's emphasis on original problem-solving techniques and creative thinking helped VIVA VVIT 2K24 succeed as a whole. Code Rewind has established itself as a distinguished event by raising the bar for competitive programming and motivating the upcoming generation of programmers to succeed.
