SKILL START

VVIT GUNTUR ACM-W Student Chapter organized an offline workshop SKILL START on Friday, Oct 4, 2024, from 3:40 PM to 5:00 PM. This event was attended by our college’s first-year students. The workshop received a great response from students, accounting for a total of 240 participants.

Skill Start is an impactful workshop for first-year B.Tech students, focusing on key technologies and the use of professional platforms like LinkedIn to build networks and explore internships. It provided guidance on utilizing these platforms to enhance career opportunities, helping students connect with professionals, showcase their skills, and gain valuable experience for future success.

The workshop introduced students to high-demand fields such as web development, artificial intelligence (AI), and data structures and algorithms (DSA), highlighting their prominence in today's tech industry. These areas not only drive innovation but also offer well-paying career opportunities. Students were advised to choose career paths that match their strengths and interests while keeping up with industry trends to improve their future job opportunities.

An important aspect of Skill Start was teaching students how to effectively use LinkedIn as a professional networking tool. Students learned how to optimize their LinkedIn profiles to attract potential employers and internship opportunities by showcasing their skills and experiences. The workshop also emphasized using LinkedIn to connect with industry professionals and access valuable resources that can support their career growth.

Furthermore, the workshop highlighted the significance of consistency in career development. Students were encouraged to seek appropriate certifications and courses, make the most of available resources, and apply their learning effectively.
