ALGO ARENA

VVIT ACM Student Chapter hosted a competitive coding event, Algo Arena on Thursday, August 22nd, 2024 from 9:00 AM. The event was part of the annual tech fest SPARDHA 2K24 and was attended by students from various institutions.

The event received a great response from students of various institutions with over 1349 participants.

Algo Arena was structured to test not only the coding abilities of participants but also their logical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The event emphasized a rigorous approach to competitive programming, ensuring that every aspect of the participants' capabilities was put to the test.

It presented with four problem sets, each with two easy, one medium, and one hard problem, designed to challenge participants' coding skills. The marking scheme awarded 15 marks for easy problems, 40 for medium, and 80 for hard, totalling 150 marks. Each problem included 17 test cases of varying difficulty, making the performance on these tests essential in determining the final score. This structure provided a comprehensive assessment of participants' problem-solving abilities.

Participants competed individually on HackerEarth for 1 ½ hours, with scores based on the number of problems solved and test cases passed. The event emphasized both speed and accuracy, with the top scorer being the winner. Judging was transparent, with detailed performance insights and checks for code copying, ensuring a fair and high-standard competition.
